Divisional President: Gary Pearce


Gary Pearce - pic 200pxGary is currently employed with QinetiQ Australia as a Principle Consultant.  In this role he has performed all aspects of a discipline specialist role for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).  In addition to providing high level ILS Consulting Services to QinetiQ’s customer, most of whom manage complex Defence Projects, Gary is an ILS lead and mentor within the company providing comprehensive advice to his peers and senior managers in ILS related matters.Gary is a proficient and qualified ILS Manager with over 43 years’ experience working in various ADF (21 years, as an Army electronics technician, supervisor, manager and trainer), Public (12 years within the Defence Materiel Organisation acquisition and sustainment projects), and Private (10 years, in senior ILS contracting and consulting services) roles and responsibilities.  Gary has been awarded a Master’s Degree in Logistics Management (UNSW) and Project Management (USQ), an Associate Diploma in Engineering-Electronics; and recently awarded the Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) Qualification by SCLAA.  In addition to his tertiary qualifications, Gary has significant experience in ILS and project management, logistic support analysis, supply chain processes, logistic engineering, maintenance, configuration, technical support, documentation/data, test/trials, tender development/evaluation; and training development and delivery.In his career Gary has been involved in a number of Defence capabilities, including maintenance of communication and ICT equipment, and projects embracing armoured vehicles, surveillance/recognisance vehicles, RAN Ships, Satellite communications, Inventory Information Systems, Air Traffic Control systems, Collins Submarine Replacement Combat Systems, RAN Hydrographic Ship propulsion upgrade, tender evaluation (ILS) for the ADF Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear equipment, and currently engaged in ILS Management for a Collins Submarine project.Gary was a member of the International Society of Logistics (SOLE), however in 2012 joined SCLAA to be connected with an Australian based logistics organisation for local benefits and networking opportunities.  Gary is based in the ACT, and with effect 1 Dec 2015 has accepted to take on the very important role as the SCLAA President for the ACT/SNSW Division, is also looking forward to the exciting responsibility, working and networking with very competent logisticians throughout SCLAA, Defence and Industry.
