Event in Review: Disrupting the Food Chain March 2018

Disrupting the food supply chain in 2018!

The SCLAA hosted its first Thought Leadership event for 2018 last week at an exciting new venue in the Melbourne CBD, WeWork.

The buzz and energy in the room was evident throughout the evening. Fittingly for a food tech event, we were left with full bellies as everyone enjoyed the catering by Deliveroo. We had a fantastic turnout with over 60 attendees to hear from industry experts on what the future of food looks like in the supply chain industry.

Thank you to Angeline Archariya, Matt Kuperholz, Tiffany Gould and Jeff Bourne for their involvement and the SCLAA committee for their hard work in making this event run smoothly.

Our next event is on AI in supply chain which you won’t want to miss.

Keep your eyes peeled!

2018 VIC/TAS Launch Event

To celebrate the New Year, the VIC/TAS Division of the SCLAA held our annual launch event on 6 February at the Aer Rooftop Bar in Melbourne’s CBD.

Melbourne’s weather shone through and the committee and members from over 30 different SC&L companies came together to celebrate the new year on the sunny rooftop bar.

Thought provoking discussions were had, from discussing the challenge of tackling the counterfeit wine industry to the integration of the sharing economy into logistics via proof of providence and advanced pallet technology. Whether at the beginning of their career or an industry expert, everyone walked away with a fresh perspective on a current issue, and of course, some great new connections in the world of supply chain and logistics. Looking forward to the next event!

How will Innovation in Blockchain Technology Shape Supply Chains of the Future?

As part of the Intereskt Festival’s “Blockchain Day”, Australia’s first Fintech Festival, The SCLAA hosted its final Thought Leadership event for 2017 last night at Deskworx in St Kilda.

The buzz and excitement in the room was evident throughout the evening. We had a fantastic turnout with over 60 attendees to hear from industry experts on what the future of blockchain looks like in the supply chain industry.

Last night, 15 June, marked the successful launch of the inaugural VIC-TAS SCLAA mentoring program at RMIT Building 80. Participants are treated to fun-filled activities that broke the ice, as well as interesting anecdotes about past mentoring relationships from our senior members. Mentees were also given a few tips on how to engage new industry contacts for the networking drinks event that followed the launch.

We would like to give special mention to our moderator, June Parker for moderating such a fun and engaging event on her birthday. We would also like to thank KNAPP, Selection Partners and RMIT  for generously supporting our goal to increase the capability of the supply chain industry through this program.
