Australian Bushfire Recovery – Can You Help?
Australia and the rest of the world have welcomed in a New Year and decade with all the hopes and good wishes as are traditional with this time. This second decade of the 21st century has had a devastating start for so many in the areas affected by the bushfires.
The SCLAA has offered to facilitate the provision of assistance from the freight, supply chain and logistics industries to all those in these areas in the aftermath of the fires. Direct contacts have been established with various NGOs, Government and other agencies that will be working directly with those effected by the fires and information is currently being obtained on specific requirements to assist those in these devastated areas. These requirements will include road cartage of goods, interim storage, warehouse unpack facilities, supply of food, water, fuel and other essentials, earthmoving equipment, temporary housing and other equipment, supplies and transport requirements amongst others.
As the SCLAA awaits specific requirements, any companies or organisations who are able to assist with any of the abovementioned requirements, can email our National Secretariat on firstname.lastname@example.org providing information on what they could potentially provide to assist. This information will be passed on directly to the organisations on the ground.
Over the coming days specific requirements will be advised and this information will be published on the SCLAA website and social media (#AusHeart). Anyone able to assist with the requirements will be put in direct contact with the organisation and/or service provider requiring the assistance.
