2015 SCLAA Chairman’s Report

Dear Members,

Thank you for attending the 2015 AGM of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia.

The SCLAA has completed another successful financial year and indeed calendar year, with hard working Divisions in Queensland, New South Wales, ACT / Southern NSW, Victoria / Tasmania, South Australia / Northern Territory and Western Australia, comprising of their committees and Presidents.

Our revenue for the financial year was $855,792 and expenses $795,856 resulting in a surplus of $59,936. Revenue, expenses and the surplus were all up on prior year primarily due to the Federal Government Grant we received at the start of the 2013 Financial Year.  The Grant program was completed on time and under budget, and we were able to return unspent funds to the Federal Government. Though good management, the Board this Financial Year paid back the cash loans on the Queensland, Western Australia and Victorian SCLAA Divisions.  I would like to especially thank our Treasurer Peter Hollins and the Office Logistics team.

Retained earnings / Total Equity are a healthy $323,430.

As mentioned at the last AGM, the SCLAA tried hard to merge with the LAA, but it wasn’t to be and the LAA Directors wound up the LAA earlier this year.  The SCLAA ultimately benefited and we saw new members in all 6 of our Divisions and we are now at 27 National Partners more than double the same time last year.

During the year we released our new website, which is easier to manage and add content. Our Google Page rank has increased and our website visits were up 14% year on year.

The SCLAA is actively look at ways to increase events, membership, and revenue and reduce expenses all commensurate with improving member value.

The key objective for this year will be to roll out our strategic plan and increase revenue and membership. The Board has all three in motion.

We want to thank you for your support, feedback and suggestions with all our events during the year.

I would like to thank all Members, National and Corporate Partners, the Board, Division Presidents and Committees, Office Logistics and special Committees like the Awards and Future Leaders Group for their support and dedication during the year.

On behalf of the SCLAA National Board, Division Committees and all the volunteers at the SCLAA, we would like to wish members a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year and continued success in 2016.

Mark Skipper

National Chairman
