WA Women in Action Report

The WA Division hosted the Women in Supply Chain breakfast forum on the 11th June. This event was specifically aimed at the female members, with the main aim being to provide an opportunity to hear from a successful female leader from within the industry, Cindy Dunham General Manager Operations, Australia West for Rio Tinto Procurement, and to discuss the introduction of an initiative within the WA Division that would focus on developing opportunities for women within the industry of supply chain and logistics. The forum was an overall success with the members contributing through the sharing of career experiences, from the good, the bad and the ugly, and brainstorming some key ideas on how to progress the initiative. It was heartening to see the commitment of the members to take carriage of this with the desire to maintain momentum and introduce further development opportunities into the WA Division calendar. The association views itself as a supporting platform for women in the industry with a vision of wanting to encourage and support more women to join and develop careers that will afford them longevity and progression alongside their male counterparts
