More than 350 staff, owner drivers and guests of All Purpose Transport spent the day celebrating the official opening of their new Logistics Centre at 132-166 Gilmore Road, Berrinba Queensland with a ribbon cutting ceremony and family fun day.

Addressing the large crowd, General Manager for All Purpose Transport Paul Kahlert said that new premises mean little if you don’t have a great team.

“These new premises address our core value that we’ve had in place at APT for decades.  We know that the Best People = Best Business.   This is another step forward to enable our people to come to work to first class premises and to establish APT firmly as an Industry Employer of Choice,” Mr Kahlert said.

“Todays’ celebration is about our new building opening, but it is more about the great people who have worked for APT to make this possible.”

He acknowledged the founders and owners of All Purpose Transport, Trevor and Pam White.  “Without Trevor and Pam starting this company back in 1975, none of this would be possible. Their 40-plus year commitment is on show here today and we are now standing on the foundations of the business for the next 40 years.”

“APT is a privately owned Queensland road freight company servicing south east and regional Queensland with depots at Berrinba, Loganlea and the Sunshine Coast.   As we grow, this building supports our position to deliver an exceptional service to our clients across Queensland.

Today represents the opening of Stage 1 of the building development which will soon see another 2 stages added.  This footprint will total close to 18,000m2 of warehousing space along with 1000m2 of first class office space.”

Opening the Centre, Logan Mayor Pam Parker was in attendance to thank All Purpose Transport for bringing jobs to the Logan region.  Cutting the ribbon, she said that Logan would be stronger for having All Purpose Transport and both their new and planned facilitates operating from their region with strong family values at their core.

Founder and Owner, Trevor White said “that today was a celebration for the family, our employees and subcontractors for the wonderful work you do, the service you provide to our customers and the enthusiasm you display each and every day.”  He acknowledged the assistance of many who have played a pivotal role in the construction of this impressive and state of the art Logistics Centre.

“Since our beginning in 1975, founded on family values, through to the opening of this new building today, we have operated on sound principles and hired the best people we could find.  We were always confident that the company would continue to prosper past my retirement in 2001 and it has thanks to all of our people who make a difference every day, led by General Manager Paul Kahlert.”
